"I have received the Box by Captain Soper, your letter gave me much pleasure to hear of your welfare and family. The shoes you sent is very good just fit and suit my corns which i return many thanks for, the Testament i also thank you for and all the other articles, the pins was very good i have sold some of them at the rate of one shilling and six pence each paper our currency. You wrote me word to have the Testament read to me which i always do my daughters reads it to me, as for servants i have none at present. I have been misfortunate in business and been oblige to sell those that i had to pay the stores, my children are my servants at present it is well for me that i had them for they does what little business i used to do such as making Cakes in my old age now i am not able to do any hard work. You wrote me word to let m you know what good Ministers we have here and if they vis that visit the Coloured people. [Inserted above: The Wesleyans Missionary Nunnery visits the Cold. People] Most wee have all joined the Wesleyans missionary society which is called Methodist, wee have got a very fine Sunday school here that is kept by the methodist and a great number of children, both of my daughters are teachers in it my daughters are in good health, as can be for myself i enjoys as good health as can be expected now in my old age. My days is growing shorter and shorter and full of pains I am endeavouring by Gods grace to live for a better world. I will thank you to send me, next year if wee are spared a good size Bible, two small methodist hymn books Wesleys hymns, & some good assorted needles and tapes, and three pounds of ounce thread, one pound of number 10, one pound of number 20 one pound of number 24 & let me know what all comes to & what you will have in payment & I will send it by return of Captain Soper. Eliza & Caroline joins me in every good wishes to yourself, Miss Ahmuty Mistress Mitchell & her family. I am dear Mistress Yours sincere and ever well wisher wisher servant Rebecca Ahmuty"
